Parents & Caregivers: Learn to Be a Determined Family Together!
March 19 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT
Two I’m Determined sessions to pick from: March 19 at Key Middle School or April 3 at Herndon Senior Center! Choose your session on Eventbrite Registration.
Parents and caregivers of children and youth with special needs will have two opportunites to hear more about the Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) I’m Determined project and the annual I’m Determined Youth Summit. Join us at one of our convenient sessions to learn how to incorporate important self-determination skills into everyday life at home and school, and how the I’m Determined program is being implemented in Fairfax County public schools.
Self-determination is a best practice in education as it puts the student at the center of their own lives and prepares them with critical life skills. Nancy Anderson and Janet Ratzlaff, I’m Determined coordinators for the Region 4 Regional Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) at GMU will present. Older youth potentially interested in particpating in the program may attend. Please note there will be no child care available at either location.
These events are sponsored by the VDOE I’m Determined project, CHADD, Formed Families Forward and SEPTA – the Fairfax County Special Education PTA. For further information please contact Nancy Anderson at firstname.lastname@example.org or Janet Ratzlaff at email@example.com of the I’m Determined Project or visit the Formed Families Forward website at www.FormedFamiliesForward.org.
